Preface
Before you read below this line, here’s an update. I am taking a temporary pause, not because I want to, but because life is demanding it. My blog is sporadic and often stagnant for months at a time, but I refuse to shut down the page because it’s coming back, hopefully in July 2023. For now I have returned to full-time, non-writing work. This is not a defeat, but an unexpected re-routing of my dream. The scenario below describes my leap from full-time office work to writing. I had a ball writing for four years, and then veered from the path because I forgot to listen to the One who had set the path before me. I’ve owned my mistake, and now am working to get back to that path. I’m getting closer every day, and I’m excited about that day I can leap again. And I will! See you soon!

Who am I?
Foremost, I am a child of God.
I’m married to a patient and encouraging man named Jerry, who isn’t as bothered by the thought of me jumping into the writing world as he is by not knowing where the bottom is so he can run down there to catch me.
I’m a mother of two bright and wonderful boys; Young Jerry is already out conquering the world, and Charles is tugging at the leash but must endure college first.
I love art, beauty, and humor.
My childhood role models were Erma Bombeck, O. Henry, and Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I’m an introvert, which means even though I love people, being in their midst sometimes exhausts my brain. It makes for many awkward conversations.
I believe true happiness is only found through giving, and true joy is only found through thanksgiving; that joy and happiness are not the same.; that the world is full of people seeking both but they only get fleeting glimpses because they don’t have a real relationship with the Lord, and that others, like me, know the Truth but keep taking our eyes off of it.
I believe the Bible is God’s love letter to all of us, and I try earnestly to read it from a child’s perspective, or through the eyes of a loving parent. My book-in-progress, the Perfect Parent, is the result of that effort.
My favorite line from the Bible is, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”(Mark 9:24)
All of this, and the contents of my Character Closet, make me who I am. Welcome to my world, I can’t wait to meet you.

Rose, I received your Christmas card and Carissa found your book on amazon. Bravo! I read it last night until nearly midnight. Send me a message to the email I entered. I have a story you might like to hear. Chad
Chad, good to see your voice. Computer didn’t share your address with me. I’m at RoseFitz.portraitwriter@gmail.com. It’s all over my blog, so I don’t mind sharing.
I could have written this myself. God bless you!
Why, thank you! And you as well. I’m heading over to your page. 😉
